Check-engine light on? We find the cause, not just the code.
About this repair
A trouble code tells you where to start looking, not what is broken. We read the codes, test the systems behind them and explain what is actually wrong before anything is replaced, and before any big repair is put on the table.
Signs you need it
- The check-engine light is on or flashing
- Rough idle, stalling or hesitation when you accelerate
- Worse fuel economy than you are used to
- Hard starts or a car that will not start at all
Don't replace it. Repair it.
Before you replace the engine
A replacement is the most expensive answer, and not always the only one. A leaking gasket, a failed sensor, a worn timing part or a single damaged cylinder can look like a dead engine. We find the real cause first.

Common questions
Is it safe to drive with the check-engine light on?
A steady light usually means a fault to look at soon. A flashing light means an active misfire that can damage the catalytic converter, so it should be checked right away.
Why not just clear the code?
Clearing a code hides the warning but does not fix the cause. The light will come back, and the underlying problem can get worse.
